Training of youth leaders in the field of
sustainable agriculture,
sustainable entrepreneurship and sustainable tourism
Content
of the training:
1) Training on sustainable
agriculture:
- what is sustainable agriculture and sustainable natural resource
management;
- good practices for combating poverty and improving the livelihood of
rural communities through sustainable agriculture;
- how to raise awareness on sustainable agricultural practices and
sustainable management of natural resources;
2) Training on sustainable
entrepreneurship:
- what is sustainable entrepreneurship;
- good practices for combating poverty, improving the livelihood of
rural communities and diversifying the rural economy through sustainable
entrepreneurship ventures;
- training how to raise awareness on sustainable entrepreneurship and
promote sustainable entrepreneurship ventures;
3) Training in eco and rural
tourism:
- what is eco and rural tourism and sustainable management of the
natural and cultural heritage;
- good practices for combating poverty, improving the livelihood of
rural communities and diversifying the rural economy through eco and
rural tourism;
- how to raising awareness on sustainable tourism and to promote eco and
rural tourism ventures;
4) Training in development skills:
- participatory approaches to development;
- essential development skills (i.e. assessing community needs;
community mapping and partnership building; designing and managing
collaborative projects; integrating local culture and belief systems
into developmental projects; ensuring sustainability of projects and
initiatives);
- evaluation of work, of communication and of learning outcomes.
The training will include, when appropriate, presentations and
discussions, focused on participants’ local-level experiences. In
addition, it will include a meeting with owners of small eco-tourist
hotels in Dobrudzha and/or a meeting at the Dobrich municipality,
focused on local measures for achieving sustainable development. All
trainees will also be invited to participate in a demonstration event
“Cook and Taste” at the HRC Culinary Academy in Dobrich, where they will
be invited to cook their traditional national/local culinary
specialities using locally-produced bio-agricultural products and to
taste the “foreign” specialities.
Participants in trainings:
The same three young people selected by each partner organization for the
first training.
