At the end of the war, Jean Bruel, who loved Paris, wanted to allow the Parisians to be able to enjoy themselves again and lead a carefree existence. He knew that Paris appeared to be even more beautiful when it was seen from the River Seine. But up until then, it had been used as a thoroughfare to transport goods and people (by river boat).
He designed and built really modern and avant-garde boats, including 9 cruise boats and 5 boat restaurants. They are encased in glass and bathed in light and represent the company’s the current fleet.
The Compagnie des Bateaux Mouches® was created in 1949 and since then it has become a name which is known throughout the world!
The 5 boat restaurants travel all over Paris every day to reveal the heart of the City of Light. They will allow you to discover or rediscover all of the magic of the banks of the River Seine, which are enhanced, in no predictable order, by the most prestigious monuments which have marked history.
The Compagnie des Bateaux Mouches makes it a point of honor to only serve dishes made from fresh products which are selected each morning and are cooked to order.
All of our tables overlook the banks of the River Seine to allow each person to take advantage of Paris in the most comfortable surroundings. On board, musicians play timeless international musical passages and great classic French songs so that the atmosphere will always be romantic and festive.
