Objectives:
- To make a positive impact on the
participants personal and professional competencies with regards to
their language skills and understanding of intercultural exchanges with
the other participants in the group.
- To develop Italian culture knowledge |
Methodology:
The idea of this course is “learning by doing” and “learning while
doing”: every day there will be work sessions. Participants will be
actively involved and will develop – alone or in small groups – language
activities and exercises for direct use in their lessons.
This intercultural course uses a variety of methodologies. There is a
mix of workshops with presentation, individual reflection, pair work and
small group activities. During excursions and field work the reality of
intercultural influence in the surrounding area is demonstrated.
Classroom sessions include interactive, practical demonstrations and
encouraging participants to bring their own research and experience to
bear, providing teachers with a hands-on opportunity to experience and
experiment with the latest techniques and methodologies for teaching
Italian as a foreign language. Observation of Local Schools' teachers
will allow participants to see the activities they meet on the course in
a real classroom context, and discussion with colleagues allows teachers
to find ways to deploy new techniques in their own teaching context.
Particularly, will be held:
- Debates about education, literature, history, music, art, etc.
- Observation activity in the Schools
- Practical group task
- Cultural visits, excursions and social activities.
- Workshops |
Follow-up:
At the end of the course participants are
asked to reflect on their key learning points and how they will put
their learning in to action. They also fill out a post-course evaluation
form. We distribute an email contact list so that everyone can keep in
contact, as the interaction between members of the group is an important
part of the course. Later we will contact everyone to ask how they are
using the ideas from the course and in what way their approach to their
training courses has changed.
NEAC will also put all course outcomes/results on its web site, and any
kind of discussion will be gathered in a Forum where language teachers
can take part in it.
